Celebrity Wedding: Whitney Port & Tim Rosenman

For this month’s celebrity wedding we’re taking the super styled-up angle with a flashback to Whitney Port & Tim Rosenman’s edgy November 7 nuptials. The pair got married during sunset at the idyllic outdoor venue of Colony 29 in Palm Springs, California, and with so many drool-worthy pics to gawp at, Whitney and her wedding planning team (her sister! Way to keep it in the family Whit!) show the rest of us how it’s done.

Check out Whit’s stunning dress, the tropical-oasis-in-the-desert inspired decor and the cute and fun bride and groom pics everywhere – with most imagery of the wedding supplied by the newlyweds official photographer Hannah Costello. Gorgeous alert!

  1. The Couple

Whitney Port, 30 year old former star of The Hills and current head of her own label, Whitney Eve, and producer Tim Rosenman met on the set of MTV’s reality series The City, and were engaged in November 2013 (after Tim reportedly proposed twice!).

  1. The Rings

Rosenman designed Port’s rose-gold, oval-shaped engagement ring with jeweler Ron Bensimon, so when it came time to design her wedding rings with Tacori, Port knew she wanted to complement her existing ring while at the same time coming up with something totally different. “I was lucky enough that I was able to design three of them — one that was bigger that I could wear on its own, and the other two that I could wear on either side of the engagement ring,” she says of the designs, which all featured baguettes and pavé stones to the tune of 6.5 carats.

  1. The Dress & Details

Port flaunted her perfect pins in a lace wedding dress with a waterfall hemline and finished with silver embroidery, off white pearls and a metre-long train. US Weekly reports that the gown, which Whitney helped design with Ashi Studio, was modelled after an Italian chandelier. Port also custom designed 20 palm frond featured silk robes for her closest ladies to get ready in.

  1. The Decor

Port hired her oldest sister Ashley and her company BK Events to plan the big day. With a common theme of black, white, and gold throughout, the entire affair was a testament to Port’s personal style and flair, complete with a lot of fun touches. Prior to the ceremony guests were greeted with a display of fresh coconuts with gold foil straws. During the ceremony guests sat on chairs which cleverly picked up on accents in the desert foliage. The tabletop decor was provided by Hostess Haven, flower arrangements were from Sticks and Stones Floral Design, the bar was built from scratch by Pow Wow Design (who also supplied all the lounge furniture), and Port chose to decorate with pineapples to signify welcoming hospitality.

  1. The Vows

Port lost her father to kidney cancer in 2013, just a few months before Tim proposed, so her Mum walked her down the aisle. “I thought I was going to be hysterical because when you dream of this day, that’s the moment when your father is walking you down,” said Whitney to Hello Magazine. “Leading up to the wedding, that’s what I was most scared of and how I was going to feel and if I was going to be able to hold it together.

“Honestly, I think I was just so surrounded by love and I saw so many smiling, loving faces and then Tim at the end – that trumped all of the sadness, which was awesome.”

The couple said personal vows they had written themselves. Whitney promised to kiss her husband good night and good morning at the start and end of each day. Tim said: “I love you Whit. I really do. You are my family. You are my entire life, and I promise to spend the rest of mine making sure you know that you have nothing to ever worry about again. We have each other to face all the battles life throws our way and share in all the great things to come.”

  1. The Happy Wedded-Up Couple & Their Guests

The couple had approximately 200 guests for their big day. Port’s sister and wedding planner Ashley told US Weekly, “… they had a very hard time getting it to that low of a number because these are their nearest and dearest. We are not the type of family to be friends with people just to be friends with people. These are Whitney and Tim’s closest friends from all chapters.”

And that’s a wrap! What did you think of Whit & Tim’s wedding style?
